Resolve to Get Involved in 2016!
Giving has long been proven to benefit the giver just as much as the recipient. Studies have shown that giving leads to increased feelings of pleasure and happiness … a win-win! But did you know that volunteering – what we like to call “getting involved” – improves the volunteer’s own sense of well-being and can even lower stress? 41% of Americans volunteer an average of 100 hours a year (thanks, volunteers!) and of those, 89% said volunteering made them feel healthier, 73% reported lower stress and 68% said they had a better sense of well-being.
